McHurricane™ 2.0.5 is designed for 256 colors when using a color system. Minimum application memory size is 750K. For "Millions" of colors, use a minimum 2000K. McHurricane™ has been successfully tested on a 21 inch color monitor set at 256 colors and application memory at the 750K level. McHurricane™ 2.0.5 requires a Mac Plus or later model and System 6.0.5 or later. Apple's 32-bit Quick Draw is necessary for color. McHurricane™ 2.0.5 is System 7.1 compatible.
Although a Super or hard drive is required to unpack the McHurricane package, it may be run from an 800K disk; be sure the disk is unlocked in order to save preference changes or storm files saved to the same disk.
McHurricane™ may be requested with black and white map resources installed. This can save approximately 200K on the disk the program is run from.
For Now Utilities users. If you are using Now Menus 4.0 or later, the McHurricane™ menus will probably be in black & white, regardless of color operation. If you are operating in color and using Now Utilities 4.0.1 and later, the following action may be taken to regain McHurricane's color menus:
* Open NowMenus Control Panel
* Select the Preferences button
* Select the Exclude… button; an 'Exlude From NowMenus Customization' dialog will open, select the Add… button
* Locate McHurricane™ and select the Open button; McHurricane™ will be added to the Exclude list
* Select the OK buttons to get back to the NowMenus Control Panel, select the window close box —— You should now have McHurricane's color menus.
McHurricane™ maps are 8" by 10" graphics and will require adjustment on most printers to prevent clipping. Please see documentation for additional information.
For current users, McHurricane™ 2.0.5 has increased ocean area coverage. It now runs from Cape Verde Island (just west of Africa) to and including the Hawaiian Islands. Registered owners may upgrade to the latest version by remitting $2.00, or sending me a self-addressed envelope with 52 cents postage and a disk (800K or 1.4M).
